Since I've been getting phone calls requesting 'a few minutes of my time' to complete telephone surveys, I thought I'd investigate whether it was possible to make any money (legitimately) through answering surveys. I filtered through a lot of crap until I found a couple of legit options.

The first is Pure Profile. Since I signed up I've done about seven online surveys on topics ranging from chewing gum to dishwashing liquid. Apparently Pure Profile is one of the few market research companies in Australia that is both legitimate and actually pays for your time. The surveys that I have completed have taken between 5-15 minutes to complete, and I've received payments between $1-$4 per survey although according to the site some payments can be higher (depending on the time it takes to complete the survey). I haven't received any unwanted SPAM, which is a bonus. Bottomline, if you sign up to join Pure Profile you'll probably be offered the opportunity to complete a survey every couple of weeks, spend about 20mins of your time, and make a few bucks a month for doing practically nothing.

The second site that I've joined and had a good experience with is Email Cash. Again, Email Cash is free to join, doesn't flood your in box with SPAM, and offers genuine payment for your time. One benefit of Email Cash is that not only do they offer you payment for completing surveys, but they also offer you rewards if you buy products from one of their reward partners via the links from their site. Some of the reward partners include Dick Smith Electronics Online, HMV Online and Dymocks Books. So if your going to buy something from one of these places anyway, you may as well buy via Email Cash and get some additional reward for it. Bottomline, while Email Cash hasn't made me a millionaire, I have made a little over $70 in around 12 months.

So there you go, two legit ways for a lazy Bean Bag Boy to make some extra cash.
