Project: Deep Impact
One minute I'm lying down watching a DVD, the next I'm down at the supermarket browsing drain cleaning products. What happened you ask? Good question.
I was lying on my bed watching "Anacondas: Search for the Blood Red Orchid" enjoying a tall cold glass of Coke Zero. The movie was rubbish, although it did make the first Anaconda movie look good. I placed my glass on the ground and settled back down. My arm brushed the DVD remote control and it fell. It fell head first, straight into my glass of Coke Zero. The remote was fully submerged, the glass rocked forward and back, before falling on it's side, freeing the remote, but also spilling Coke Zero all over my bedroom floor. Like lightning I was out to the kitchen grabbing paper towel and any other cleaning products within reach.
After mopping up I was stuck with a handful of soaking wet paper towel. To me, paper towel is a close relative of toilet paper, therefore it made
perfect sense to flush it down the toilet. Unfortunately, this logic was a little flawed. The bowl filled up with water, then it took 5mins for the water level to return to normal. Bugger! I needed to take to my remote control with a hair dryer. This seemed to work a little. Some of the remote buttons work again now. Just not the good ones like 'play', 'stop', 'pause' and the power button.
This morning the problem had not resolved itself. I made a quick trip to the supermarket for some industrial strength draino. I followed the detailed instructions. I waited, waited and waited some more. NOTHING! Zero impact.
24 hours have now passed. I am currently in the process of repeating the draino procedure. If that fails I will move to emergency protocols, petrol and matches, and attempt to blast the blockage clear. If that fails I may need to call in Winston Wolf, and failing that, a plumber.
* Update *
A specialist was called in, he has unleashed a probe, and the blockage is clear. Bean Bag Boy is once again free to take care of business. The world breathes a sigh of relief.
