According to the Sydney Morning Herald, "Paramount Pictures is ending its 14-year relationship with Tom Cruise after the disappointing performance of his latest film, Mission: Impossible III." Paramount have apparently put the bust up down to Tom's "bizarre off-screen antics".

This story saddened me. MI3 wasn't a terrible film, I mean there were moments that I actually forgot I was watching a Tom Cruise movie. Sure, it ran like a big screen adaptation of the TV show 'Alias' minus Jennifer Garner, but who really cares? It was a popcorn movie. It did what it was supposed to and entertained people for 2 hours.

It's time to cut the guy some slack. In my opinion, it is his bizarre off-screen behaviour that keeps him interesting. Slagging off Brooke Shields, getting aggro with journo's, soiling Oprah's couch, the Scientology thing, hooking up with Dawson's missus, odd baby names. That's entertainment. Yes, he may be a scientologist, but at least he didn't make 'Battlefield Earth'!

Tom may need some help to get the whole movie career back on track. If I was his agent, I'd be trying to secure him the lead role in 'Snakes on a Plane 2' before it's too late.
