August was an interesting month for Swollen Pickles. I've reviewed the August 2006 web stats, and there's been some interesting results.

  • there were 850 visitors. around 60% of people that found their way here from google, did so because they had searched for 'shock docs' or 'amputee porn'.
  • 28 August was the busiest day with 60 visitors.
  • my Google Adsense click through rate was fairly low (0.53%).
  • no one has purchased a t-shirt. no one has purchased anything from Amazon.

So, in summary, it seems this website has cornered the cheap ass pervert market.

Talking of adsense, don’t you have to love Google’s idea of “contextual.” I get a negligable click through rate but that’s because none of the ads appearing on my page are anything to do with the article. They haven’t twigged that words have different meanings in different contexts yet.

I think they use ‘contextual’ to mean ‘random’ sometimes. As an example, this page currently has an ad for rain gauges, the FIFA world cup and the Top 6 Oil stock picks.
