The Spring Racing Carnival has started for another year. What does this mean for the average punter? An influx of fine looking ladies heading out to the race track all dressed up. There's been a lot of talk about fashion in the past few weeks, but the big story is the 'fascinator'. I never actually knew what a fascinator was until this year.
"A fascinator is a fashion accessory, more commonly worn by women, on the head or in the hair. While it is simply defined as a head scarf, it may be anything from a small hair piece to a more complicated creation, but generally it is less substantial than a hat. It may be made from many materials, e.g. feathers or lace, and attaches to the head by varying means." Wikipedia
Big news ladies is that this year, fascinators are out! Remember, you heard it here first. If your attaching anything to your head that looks like a birds nest, then you probably need to review your whole approach to fashion. For my fans in the US, 2007 prom dresses should not be accompanied by fascinators. Why don't we have prom's in Australia? Anyone? Anyone? I mean based on all the movies I've seen, they seem to be a great way to lose your virginity, I mean surely American Pie was based on actual events?
