Arriving Somewhere

The Porcupine Tree Live DVD 'Arriving Somewhere' arrived last week. I'm a big fan of Porcupine Tree. There stuff is a little hard to come by in Australia so I preordered this from Amazon.com. 'Arriving Somewhere' is a 2 disc package. Disc 1 is a full live show from Chicago circa 2005 when Porcupine Tree were touring behind the Deadwing album. Disc 2 is the extras, a few more live tracks and clips. Tracks from Deadwing and In Absentia are both well represented on the live disc. The visuals are good, the occasional trippy effect. Audio quality is excellent. Halo, Open Car and Blackest Eyes are my favourite tracks on the DVD.

Porcupine Tree can drift between heavy melodic riffing, to angelic ballad and psychedelic freak out in the one song. This DVD captures all of the good stuff. Buy this if you like quality music. Highly recommended!

Please note: this review could be somewhat biased as I'm a massive Porcupine Tree fan.
