Billy Howerdel is one of the musicians I have been influenced by the most. The music he has written for A Perfect Circle is exactly the sort of music I'd like to write, if only I were good enough! His guitar rig is a little complex, lots of midi switching and rack units. A lot of Howerdel's guitar work is characterised by his use of effects, and it's rare to hear him playing through a perfectly dry tone. The Lexicon MPX G2 plays a huge role in shaping his sound. I've got one of those units myself, they can be hard to get used to in terms of programming the sounds/presets, but once you've got the menu stuff sorted it's all systems go.
