Casino Royale starts shortly, and although I have concerns about the "new" Bond, I'm still going to have to check it out. Even if the movie is rubbish, I at least hope there are cool gadgets. Hang on, wait for the link... wait for it...

I've seen those finger print pad things that you can use to log into your computer, but now I've seen something that takes that one step further. Check out these fingerprint door lock gizmos. They cover off two bases for me, they a cool looking, and they cater for lazy people. Think of it this way, a fingerprint door lock means that you'll never have to fumble with your keys again. I think we are one step away from retinal scanners ala any sci-fi movie made within the last 20 years. Fingerprint locks are cool, but does leave me with one concern. Keys, for example, are not attached to your body. Your fingers, obviously, are. If someone wants to get into your house they could pinch your keys, and that's distressing, but at least you still have all your fingers. Fingerprint locks just might pave the way for finger theft and I'm not sure I'm down with that.

Would I get one for my home? Yes, but only if there is a guarantee that I will retain all my fingers, or a guarantee that if the fingers do come off, then someone will fork out for a surgeon to re-attach them for me.
