Everyone’s bro, John So, voted ‘World Mayor 2006′
The John So juggernaut steams on with news today that he has been voted 'World Mayor 2006', snaring over 16,000 votes at worldmayor.com. For those that don't know John So is the Mayor of the City of Melbourne. The man dubbed as "a rockstar in a Mayor's body" beat 676 other Mayor's of the world to take out the title. It's big news for John So, as he now seems poised to take over the world. For me, I'll always remember John So as the Mayor that renamed the section of Swan Street, that runs past the MCG, "Owumpic Ouvarse" or Olympic Boulevard for the uninitiated. World domination is the logical next step for the man that has stolen the show at the Big Day Out (largest outdoor music festival in Australia), spawned his own song (by the Musicmen) and has his own t-shirts. We would be selfish not to share the man with the rest of the world!
