Is ‘Lost’ in danger of getting lost up its own ass?
I'm a long term Lost fan. I've been watching it since the beginning, haven't missed an episode, yada yada yada. Anyway, Season 3 started screening in Australia last night, so I tuned in to watch the 'unmissable' first 5 minutes, with the expectation that it would change my life. Alas, it did not. Sure, it had a little bit of the 'what the...?' factor going for it, but nothing that blew my fragile little mind.
This brings me to my question, has 'Lost' become lost up it's own ass?
Two seasons have passed, 45 epidsodes have now been screened, and there has been little in the way of explanation as to what is happening on the island. Allow me to provide you with an example, the 'monster'. After 20+ episodes worth of build up and mystery I was expecting something of King Kong proportions. Instead I was treated with a smoke monster. A smoke monster? How does a smoke monster eat you or rip you limb from limb? So, we see the smoke monster, then that's it. No explanation, no grand revelation, nothing. The thought of the smoke monster leaves me feeling empty inside.
Sadly, I'm starting to feel as if 'Lost' is nothing more than a cheap tease. After 45 episodes I feel like it's time that 'Lost' starts putting out! Start giving me some damn answers, before you start laying on more questions!
