Well, it would seem that the unthinkable has happened. Swollen Pickles has been banned by Digg. This morning I went to submit a post to Digg, and I received this nasty little message: "url is on the banned submit list".

It really hurts, it's like getting knocked back at a club cause your wearing the wrong shoes. You don't really know why your shoes are unacceptable, you just know that you won't be seeing the inside of the club any time soon.

If nothing else, this latest move by Digg means that I am now in illustrious company. John Chow has also been banned from digg, so now John and I have something else in common (besides the love of cars).

My guess is that a "I hate Swollen Pickles" campaign has started up. Perhaps it has been instigated by KFC because of my demands for reparations following the woeful zero pickle dinner for two meal I had a while back? ;)

I've sent Digg an email asking them for information as to why Swollen Pickles has been banned. I'm expecting some poxy automated response. It looks like Digg and Swollen Pickles are set to part company, if you own Digg shares I suggest you sell now, as when this news breaks, it's sure to cause a massive drop in the price of Digg stock! ;)

I’d be interested to hear if you get a response back from Digg.
    I read Avinio’s post too.

It seems Digg doesn’t care about the problem.

Ok, this is interesting, I haven’t received a response from Digg yet, but I was just screwing around with this blog and submitted a story about Today Tonight, and it seems to have gone through. I didn’t get the ‘banned url’ thing. Maybe I’ve been unbanned? Maybe I should shelve any other anti-Digg posts?

The defacto Digg ban | Swollen Pickles

[...] may remember that earlier this year, Swollen Pickles made the exclusive “Banned by Digg” list. A short time later, Swollen Pickles was “unbanned”. The world rejoiced. [...]

LEAVE A RESPONSE

I like it when people leave comments. It makes me feel warm inside. What I don't like is when I receive comments from people with robot sounding names like "free web hosting" or "North Carolina Real Estate". Names like these will trigger the SPAM alarm at Pickles HQ, and likely get deleted. In summary, comments that look like an attempt to do nothing more than build back links will be deleted. Thanks for your understanding ~ swollenpickles.
