Why do people from the US call thongs 'flip flops'? Since I'm from the old school, where I wouldn't pay more than $5 AUS for a pair of thongs, I was a little shocked when I saw these "reef flip flops" selling for around $45 US. Are thongs considered a luxury item in the US? For me, thongs are something to put on in summer when you can't be bothered wearing shoes and socks. They aren't something I'd be willing to part with $45 for. But then again, there are a lot of people, with a lot more money than me out there, so, to each his own.

If your after boutique thongs to impress the masses, you'll want to give Active Sandals a look, as they claim to be the largest 'sandal' (ie. thongs) retailer in the world.

Browsing their site though, I was interested to see that they stock 'Cobain sandals'. I didn't know Kurt designed his own range of sandals!?!

LEAVE A RESPONSE

I like it when people leave comments. It makes me feel warm inside. What I don't like is when I receive comments from people with robot sounding names like "free web hosting" or "North Carolina Real Estate". Names like these will trigger the SPAM alarm at Pickles HQ, and likely get deleted. In summary, comments that look like an attempt to do nothing more than build back links will be deleted. Thanks for your understanding ~ swollenpickles.
