As it currently stands, Australia have not been challenged in the World Cup so far. For me, the stand out so far has been Matthew Hayden. Ever since the retirement of Steve Waugh, I have adopted Matthew Hayden as my favourite player in the Australian squad. I was genuinely disappointed when he was left out of the One Day squad in 2005.

Now that he's back in the team, and performing at the highest level, I hope the selectors are really giving themselves a good kick in the rear for leaving him out for as long as they did.

Hayden is currently leading the world cup batting table with a total of 477 runs at an average of 79.50 in the series so far. In the series he has also knocked up the fastest century in World Cup history. I'm glad his out there dominating the best bowling attacks the world has to offer. He's a class act.

To Matthew Hayden,

Keep up the good work tiger.

Best wishes,
Swollen Pickles.
