Would the real Kumiko please stand up
I read this interesting "interview"/puff piece this morning. If you've been here before you may have read about the Kumiko identity saga. If this is your first visit and came here expecting to see pictures of Paris Hilton's camel toe then you can quickly get up to speed by reading this.
Anyway, Bob delved deep with this probing question, "There have been rumours that Kumiko might not be who people think she is and I would like your comment on this." We then get a paragraphs worth of dancing around the issue without addressing it directly. Perhaps the most telling part of "her" response is this:
In any case, I’m loving the exposure that the controversy creates!
The whole thing is starting to look more and more like a cheap crass gimmick to drum up a bit of quick web traffic.
Knowing the internet, I'm sure it's only a matter of time before some enterprising young whipper snapper unearths the true identity of Kumiko. Misrepresentation has always been a problem with the internet, and is one of the reasons why some people are still hesitant to do business on line. Pretending to be something your not does nothing to help your credibility. Hypothetically, if you found out that someone had mislead you into believing they were something that they are not, could you trust them again? Would you look to them as a reliable source of information? I know I wouldn't.
If your reading this Kumiko, who are you?... I mean really?

It seems you missed the point of the interview. I got out of it what I wanted to know. I really don’t care if the author is a man or woman, I read a blog for it’s content.
The advise and tips on Kumiko’s blog are relevant to people who are trying to make money online.
I suggest you contact Kumiko and get your own questions of your chest by using closed probes to satisfy your curiousity.
I probably did miss the point, but I guess the title “Kumiko Revealed (interview)” suggested that something would be ‘revealed’.
Personally I couldn’t care less if Kumiko is man, woman or creature from outer space. Deliberately misrepresenting yourself and misleading your readers is a ‘no no’ as far as I’m concerned, particularly if you want to position yourself as a credible source of information.
This is the reason that online based business or revenue generation has a ’sleazy’ image for a lot of the general population.
Hypothetically, you visit a young web entrepreneurs blog. He/she posts about how they have personally made X amount of money online. They publish pictures of themselves with their BMW 7 series or lounging by their pool. Next it’s revealed that they don’t own a BMW or a mansion with a pool, they borrowed them for a day to have a couple of photos taken, truth is, they don’t make much more than you. Now, you’ve read the blog for it’s content, which you had thought was good. Reading the blog now do you view it as credible? Do you trust the source? Or do you write the blog off as a tacky piece of “online marketing”?
