If you're chasing some quick and easy web traffic, StumbleUpon can be a goldmine. Any geek worth his/her pocket protector could tell you that. It was only a matter of time until the stumble phenomenon spawned a mini cottage industry. Quite a few "stumble exchange" sites seem to have sprung up of late, allowing users to 'trade' stumbles with one another in the hope that their site will end up in front of a lot more people.
In theory all the stumble exchange sites seem to work in a similar way. Owner of website A 'stumbles' website B, owner of website B then 'stumbles' website A in return. All the 'exchange' site really does is formalize the arrangement to minimize "cheating".
I'd question whether or not it's a good idea to use any of these as a key part of your long term traffic strategy, but in the short term, they are good for a decent looking spike in traffic.
I'm trialling StumpleUpon Exchange at the moment to see what effect it gives me. Nothing ventured, nothing gained, and so on and so forth...
