Afro Samurai

Have you ever experienced that feeling where, after watching a movie or DVD, you find yourself saying, "geez, that was cool!"? Well that pretty much sums up how I felt after watching Afro Samurai.
Afro Samurai is one of the coolest anime series I have seen to date. The series follows a samurai named Afro, as he treks across a "futuristic, yet feudal Japan", to avenge the death of his father. There is a little bit of "Kung Fu" and "Monkey" in Afro Samurai, which is probably why I liked it so much.
In Afro Samurai's world there are two ceremonial headbands, the Number One and the Number Two. The holder of the Number One band is likened to a god on earth. The only person able to challenge the Number One is the holder of the Number Two headband. The catch with the Number Two headband is that anyone can challenge the Number Two.
The headband thing basically serves as an excuse for some eye popping action. There are mad monks, half man half robot teddy bears and a freakin cool soundtrack.
Samuel L. Jackson provides the voice of Afro, as well as Afro's sidekick, Ninja Ninja. The soundtrack was put together by the RZA and is a smooth blend of soul and hip hop.
There are rumors of a live action version of Afro Samurai as well as a video game.
I don't have much more to add, besides buy, it's awesome.
Special note to Blankshooting: you should most definitely get your hands on the soundtrack, The RZA Presents: Afro Samurai because I'm sure it'll float your boat.
Did I mention Afro Samurai is cool?

i’m on it! how did you come across this one? haven’t heard of it before. if it’s anything like a blaxpoitation version of ’samurai jack’, than it’s gonna be the shit!
oooh, just realised i used the ‘than’ instead of ‘then’ … farkers!
I saw the cover at JB and it caught my attention. The cover had a cool picture, something about “in the tradition of Tarantino”, Samuel L Jackson and groovy sound track. I purchased it based on that, I’d never heard of it previously. It’s rated MA so it ain’t a kids cartoon!
