Has someone switched off the AuctionAds life support?

Is it just me, or is AuctionAds on the downward spiral at the moment? Earlier this month AuctionAds went out on the front foot, hailing the changes to their system as good news for publishers. There were the higher affiliate rates (which are always welcome) as well as the new Web 2.0 spring clean, which saw the introduction of a new ad format, designed to increase click through. That was roughly a month ago.

September has seen my worst month with AuctionAds since I signed onto the program. Nearly 25,000 impressions and only 11 clicks! Those are statistics of BlogRush proportions!

What has gone wrong? At one stage AuctionAds looked like a viable alternative to Adsense, particularly on my music blog.

I've also seen problems whereby no AuctionAds were being served at all, now that would explain the craptacular click through rate!

Has anyone else out there experienced a similar slump? Hopefully things pick up again soon... hopefully...

  1. Hackers says:

I ditched auctionads after the first month.

    Question … what’s 100,000 x $20 per month?

  2. Unless this is a trick question isn’t that $2million a month?

Noticing a slump also! Not that I was ever earning anything much, but now, getting virtually no clicks. Have you contacted them?

I haven’t used Auctionads, but it seems to me like adsense is going to reign supreme for a long time to come. When I’m reading a blog I’m usually not looking for things to buy. I don’t understand how some people can make money with those type of ads

Ditto what Crystal said -I’m interested in what others are saying on their blog, not what the ads are selling.

crystal and jayne – I believe that things like auctionads work best on niche sites. Auctionads doesn’t work too well on swollenpickles.com but on my music/recording blog it was out performing adsense for a while.

I was doing pretty well also until the ebay photo ads stopped appearing. Now they are back but I still haven’t gotten any more money. I’m at $32 now and anxiously awaiting the $50 payout. lol
