Well it seems that the internet marketing population is going absolutely crazy for DealDotCom at the moment. It definitely has its strong points, quick and easy sign up, nice affiliate pay outs, useful products, however, it would be naive to think that you'll start raking in the cash just because you've signed up. If you want to do well with the program, you'll have to put in a little work.

Fortunately there are people out their that have already done a lot of that work for you. So here is a quick step by step, to get you up and running as fast and as painless as possible.

Step 1. Create a free DealDotCom account for your website

Check out the hottest affiliate program on the planet

Step 2. Post about it.

Step 3. If you're using Wordpress, download and install the BlueFur DealDotCom plugin.

Step 4. Create your own banner ad, place it on your site, using your affiliate link. If you're too lazy to create your own, feel free to download the one I slapped together (see right) and use it on your site. Please don't try hot linking, otherwise I'll have to give you the balls!

Step 5. Give it a week, then post about how things are going.

All of these points should be common sense, or obvious, but sometimes it's good to go back to basics.

Within 15 minutes of posting my review of the Silverchair/Powderfinger gig, I noticed there was already one incoming link. I followed it, and it led to this waste of time. Same thing happened a couple of days ago with my Sarah Silverman tribute post. The slacker at 'easyproductreviews.com' posted the feed extract from that post and then even attributed it to someone else!

Here’s a quick excerpt
If you haven’t seen or heard Sarah Silverman before, then I think it’s about time you checked her out. She can be quite funny in a crude MA15+ kind of way. The clip from the Pamela Anderson Roast is a prime example. …

Who the fark is digitalinsugent??

My question is, why do people waste time putting sites together without bothering to add any original content? Obviously there must be some money in it, but who actually visits these sorts of sites, besides the bloggers that have been on the receiving end of the scraping?

At least I can rest easy knowing that if they try to rip off any images they'll get the balls! ;)

My ears are still ringing from last nights Silverchair/Powderfinger double bill, Across the Great Divide show at Rod Laver Arena. From where I was, the stadium appeared to be at near capacity.

Support act for the night was Expatriate. They put on an entertaining half hour or so of music, but I have to say, playing the support slot must be one of the toughest gigs in music!

Silverchair and Powderfinger both played full sets with Silverchair coming out first. They played quite a few songs from their latest album, Young Modern, as well as a mix of their older stuff. The tracks from Young Modern really stood up well live. Young Modern is an eclectic album, musically it jumps all over the place, and before hand I wondered how they’d be able to pull off tracks like Thieving Birds live.

Powderfinger followed with their set consisting largely of songs from their new album Dream Days at the Hotel Existence. They also played a few tracks from Vulture Street and Odyssey Number Five.

At the end of the show Powderfinger were joined onstage by Silverchair to blast out a quick rendition of the Who song, Substitute. » Read the rest of the entry..

Here's a little nugget I unearthed on YouTube... the Uncut version of Sarah Silverman's Pamela Anderson Roast from 2005.

Warning: Sarah Silverman is a dirty dirty woman. This contains a lot of adult themes and coarse language. » Read the rest of the entry..

I like totally joined myspace the other day. Awesome. I achieved my first goal within one hour. That was to make Ja'mie from Summer Heights High my friend. I'm so grateful that she accepted me, even though I am fugly and kind of a random (her words, not mine).

Lady with massive picklesI've decided to set a new myspace goal. The goal is to have the highest number of friends that have 'pickles' in their name. I already have one friend called pickles and another called cucumber, so things are going really well. I hope to have an army of pickles in no time at all!

So this is a shot out to all the random pickles on myspace, join me on the super swollen pickles myspace page so that we may take over the world!

This is totally unrelated, but I had this paid link opportunity today, and have no idea what the word means. Does anyone know what gund is?

If you scroll down the page, you might notice the "BlogRush" widget toward the bottom right. BlogRush is a blog syndication network that gives you the opportunity for some free advertising. Basically BlogRush acts like a traffic exchange program.

Here's a basic summary of how it works. I post the widget on my blog. It displays headlines to latest posts from other blogs in the network. In return, headlines from my blog are posted on other site in the network that are also displaying the widget. Not really a ground breaking idea, but the BlogRush site does look very Web 2.0!

I'm interested to see if this actually brings in any traffic. On the plus side, if it does bring in any traffic, the chances are that it will be "somewhat" targeted. On the downside, another widget will no doubt increase the page load times.

BlogRush have an affiliate program although to be honest, I'm not sure what it does exactly. In any case, I'll give BlogRush a try for a while and see how it goes.

In other news, I seem to be having a bizarre Adsense day. Over 1,000 impressions so far, and a CTR of 0%. Time for a new wordpress theme I think!

In other other news, I've also just  joined DealDotCom which offers a special deal on a single product each day. I'll post more about it in the near future.
