When I think about all the different things I could spend my money on, a car number plate does not appear at the top of my list. It's one of those things I have because it's required. I certainly would be forking out in excess of $1million (AUD) for the "right to display" a single digit number plate. $1 million (AUD) is what the number plate with "6" is expected to fetch at the Shannons auction at the Sydney International Motorshow.

$1 million for a number plate! Lets put that into perspective, you could buy a single number plate you could instead buy:

I know what I'd rather do with the money, but what about you? How much would you be willing to spend on a "special" numberplate?

Hmm… I would pay more than a few hundred dollars, even if I had a billion dollars. :-)

Having the number would ensure your ranking as the only one with that plate. Hmmm, seems a little pricey for me…lol

I can’t believe people pay that sort of money for number plates, do you reckon that people buy them just to show everyone on the road that they have money? Whenever I see cars with private plates on I always think they are just trying to impress everybody else, not their wallet though hey..

I have to admit, I love cars, but whenever I see a personalised plate I just assume the person is a bit of a tosser. ;)

I like it when people leave comments. It makes me feel warm inside. What I don't like is when I receive comments from people with robot sounding names like "free web hosting" or "North Carolina Real Estate". Names like these will trigger the SPAM alarm at Pickles HQ, and likely get deleted. In summary, comments that look like an attempt to do nothing more than build back links will be deleted. Thanks for your understanding ~ swollenpickles.
