Checking in on the forums and a lot of people seem to be pushing WidgetBucks very hard. Whilst I'm not sure that it's the "Adsense Killer" that some are making it out to be, I have to admit, their ads do look pretty cool, and potentially useful. I've run them on this site for the weekend, and they act in a similar way to AuctionAds but instead of receiving payment on a commission basis, it's worked out on some sort of pay per click deal.

You earn money each time someone clicks on a WidgetBucks ad widget on your site, also called pay-per-click, or PPC. You can also earn money by referring people to WidgetBucks.

Only downside I'm seeing so far is that sometimes the WidgetBucks spots take a little bit longer to load than the average ad.

I'm not sure what revenue I've made is as yet because the WidgetBucks stats aren't updated in real time. I believe there is a 3 day delay (or close to...). I'm pretty keen to see how they've performed.

WidgetBucks are currently offering a $25 bonus that'll go straight into your WidgetBucks account as soon as you sign up, so it's probably worth signing up now while the offer still stands. I'm sure this $25 bonus will create quite a buzz, so we'll probably be reading a lot about WidgetBucks in the coming weeks.

The other thing I'm liking about WidgetBucks is that they produce eye catching affiliate ads. Here's a sample.

Earn $$ with WidgetBucks!Earn $$ with WidgetBucks! Earn $$ with WidgetBucks!

So, do me a favor and join WidgetBucks. For once I'd like to crack double figures for referrals! ;)

[...] In my effort to make enough money from this blog in order to buy an Xbox 360, I’m considering incorporating a couple of WidgetBucks ads on this blog. You can see WidgetBucks in action here. [...]

Yeah and it freezes the browser for a little while too :P

Btw I don’t think there would be an Adsense killer anytime soon… :D

Well there revenue reporting is at least 5 days behind so that’s not a great start. I’ve noticed that if there are multiple ad units on the one page it slows the load times time, but I haven’t seen a page freeze yet?
I think people were getting a little wound up when calling it the “adsense killer”.

I like it when people leave comments. It makes me feel warm inside. What I don't like is when I receive comments from people with robot sounding names like "free web hosting" or "North Carolina Real Estate". Names like these will trigger the SPAM alarm at Pickles HQ, and likely get deleted. In summary, comments that look like an attempt to do nothing more than build back links will be deleted. Thanks for your understanding ~ swollenpickles.
