Top 5 referers for October 2007
I haven't done anything like this before, but I thought I'd dig around in my site statistics a bit and find out the top 5 blogs that referred SwollenPickles.com the most traffic in October. It's always interesting to see where and how people have ended up here.
I'm thinking of making this an ongoing thing, seeing as though these people have helped bring visitors, it's only fair that I try and return the favor.
So, here's the top 5 for October.
1. Dipping into the Blogpond - Meg was the winner by far! She linked to a couple of my posts last month which I think helped quite a bit. One of the few blogs I've subscribed to via RSS.
2. Derek Semmler dot com - Derek has a great blog that talks about how he has gone about making some cash online, whilst cutting the crap. Plus there's the odd car post too which always earns points. Like Megs blog, I also visit Derek's site quite regularly.
3. Wormbrain.com - The worm may not post as regularly as most people, but when he does, it's worth checking out. What's it about? Well put it this way, one of my personal favorites is 'All things Richard Dean Anderson'. Wormbrain has been in my blogroll basically since it all began.
4. Macalua.com - Marc put together the 'Top Posts' plugin I was using for a while. I left a couple of comments on that page when I was trying to get it working on my blog. I'm guessing that's where the visitors are coming from. Just goes to show, comments can bring traffic, whether they are nofollow, dofollow, or whatever.
5 . Newsnotion.com - Casey's make money online blog now has a page rank! Go check it out.
I should point out that technically, my music/recording blog, DigitalBurn came in at number 2, but I dropped it from the list seeing as though i was basically just referring traffic to myself. If you're into recording check it out. I'm slowly building a list of useful Pro Tools tips.
Want to see your blog on the list? Then start referring me traffic...

Be nice. Keep it clean. Stay on topic. No spam.

The Richard Dean Anderson post was popular enough that I eventually dedicated an “All things” category for more posts just like it.
Thanks for the plug
No worries Wormbrain. I reckon you need to do an all things Mr T post.
Nice idea, should help you get some more backlinks no doubt.
It’s always nice to give prompts out to the traffic drivers also.
