It hasn't been all that long since I changed the theme on this site. Even though it was a pain staking process, I learned a bit from it. Looking at it now though, I can still see a few bugs and layout issues that I'd like to fix. This has got me thinking, is it worth laying out the whole thing again, going back to the drawing board, or should I just keep hacking away at this one?

If you are running a blog how often do you think you should change your theme? Whether that be minor changes, or a full blown change over. Should you change your blogs theme because you aren't happy with it, or just to keep the site looking fresh for repeat visitors?

So many questions, so I'll start with this one, in your opinion, how often do you change your blogs theme? (by change I'm meaning full change over, eg. from Kubrick to Classic etc).

How often do you change your blogs theme?

I find every 6 months or so I get totally bored with “my look” plus something happens that makes me want to change the theme. In fact though I voted 2ce a year… I think last year the theme changed at least 3 times… and I’ve already changed mine once this year and want to tweak it already!

    I guess I have a short attention span. :)

I guess I’m in the same boat as you! There’s always tweaking to be done.

I find editing my layout kind of like cleaning my house. Sometimes it just needs a little dusting, other times there’s new furniture and things just need to be arranged. I redesign my blogs layout according to new features and needs, after making sure they’re worth changing the layout for.

Other times, I just change colors and a few graphics, like getting a new carpet or a fancy bubble-pattern window shade that makes people think they’re underwater. I suppose I like the psychedelic stuff a little bit and it spills over into my blog… It’s fun though!
