People have come up with a number of explanations for the proliferation of all the crappy second rate music that pollutes the air waves. Like SwollenPickles.com and the demand for camel toe, I think it's probably just a case of the music industry giving the people what they want. If you think the tunes on the radio are rubbish, then really, you only have the music buying public to blame. However this little cartoon I unearthed in a forum (and I'm sure it's doing the email rounds as well), provides an alternative theory for the "Nickleback Explosion".

I know that secretly, deep down, and to quote Nickelback, you want to be a rock star!

My teenage kids listen to Nickelback et al. I can’t understand it …its very dull. Meanwhile I listen to much better (proper) music, which they don’t like.
