Don't knock it til you tried it. Too many sites indicate colonics are used for weight loss and this is not the case. Weight loss could be a wanted benefit but the reasons should be for detox and cleansing. One good colonic could equal 15-20 bowel movements. Someone could have several great releases and never eliminate that much in one day. The feedback from clients vary and it is not of course for everyone. But if it made you feel better, flatter and lighter, why wouldn't you want that. If you are taking pain meds and are backed up a bit temporily, why not seek assistance. Its a personal decision and those who are trying to push pharmaceuticals and other products/procedures will of course discredit their competition. Colon Cleansing has been used for thousands of years throughout ancient history. Drugs are maiming and killing people these days and the profitters want to protect that. Why knock a water rinse if it helps??

Apparently, it may help with constipation :D
http://www2.oprah.com/health/oz/oz_20070917_350_101.jhtml

Took me a while to find that link, hope you don't mind me posting it...

Basically Dr. Oz (popular doctor on the Oprah talk show) did a test with two constipated truckers, after putting them on (I think) a high fiber diet, their constipation was relieved! Is that really good for a trucker though? More necessary bathroom breaks? I compare it to a bear eating sticks, dirt and things to clog themselves up for long-distance sleeping (joking about the distance..)..

Interesting! Especially since many celebrities - who can afford the best treatments available - have been choosing this procedure and then talking about the benefits on TV. In this regard, I saw a recent BBC Health program where they investigated and found the same for detox diets that put you on a fruits/vegetables/juices diet for weeks, with no benefits whatsoever. Apparently, the body is quite cabale of ejecting toxins without doing anything artificial.
