Apparently, it may help with constipation :D
http://www2.oprah.com/health/oz/oz_20070917_350_101.jhtml

Took me a while to find that link, hope you don't mind me posting it...

Basically Dr. Oz (popular doctor on the Oprah talk show) did a test with two constipated truckers, after putting them on (I think) a high fiber diet, their constipation was relieved! Is that really good for a trucker though? More necessary bathroom breaks? I compare it to a bear eating sticks, dirt and things to clog themselves up for long-distance sleeping (joking about the distance..)..

Interesting! Especially since many celebrities - who can afford the best treatments available - have been choosing this procedure and then talking about the benefits on TV. In this regard, I saw a recent BBC Health program where they investigated and found the same for detox diets that put you on a fruits/vegetables/juices diet for weeks, with no benefits whatsoever. Apparently, the body is quite cabale of ejecting toxins without doing anything artificial.
