The question of would I ever buy a car off eBay was asked of me the other day, and for once, I was actually stuck for an answer. At first I was in the 'Nahhh' corner, but the more I thought about it the more I started to warm to the idea. In many ways it's no different than finding a car in the trading post or something similar. I guess what puts me off, is the amount of money involved. For me, buying a car is a high involvement purchase, and going through that process on line still does not quite sit right with me.

It's been a while since I ran a poll, so here we go...

Do you see yourself buying a car off eBay in the next 12 months?

I’ve purchased a car from the net, but I wouldn’t buy it from Ebay. All I really did was find dealers near me, and the site hooked me up w/ dealers w/in 500 miles or so. They showed up w/ the car, I checked it over, and signed a check.

Worked very well for me b/c after 3 weeks of haggling b/n dealers, I had negotiated ~ 20% off the original asking price.

Scary thing is that used hybrids are now selling on eBay like hotcakes, and some above their purchase price from a year ago.

I like it when people leave comments. It makes me feel warm inside. What I don't like is when I receive comments from people with robot sounding names like "free web hosting" or "North Carolina Real Estate". Names like these will trigger the SPAM alarm at Pickles HQ, and likely get deleted. In summary, comments that look like an attempt to do nothing more than build back links will be deleted. Thanks for your understanding ~ swollenpickles.
