Tyra Banks sports camel toe

Monday, March 10th, 2008

When I first started SwollenPickles.com I learned very early on that there are people out there that will search long and hard in order to stumble across some Grade A celebrity camel toe. Personally, I liken it to someone who likes train spotting, ie. a strange hobby I cannot understand. Whilst I may not understand it, I'm all for giving the people what they want, and according to my statistics, what they want is camel toe.

Tyra Banks is a classy chick. The host of America's Next Top Model is glamorous, however, glamor and the camel toe are not mutually exclusive. For the amateur spotters, take a look at the snap shot below, and see if you can find the camel toe... Hint: It's subtle.

Ok ok, that was a tad disappointing, so here's a bonus music video.

Andrew Symonds slams streaker

Wednesday, March 5th, 2008

For a moment, watching the second one day international final between Australia and India last night, you may have been forgiven for thinking you'd tuned into the football, or ice hockey.

Yes, Australia lost the match, and the final series, but the match will arguably be remember for two things. Firstly, it was cricketing legend, Adam Gilchrist's last international match, which was a sad moment for everyone.

Secondly, it'll be remembered for the massive body check (or "hip and shoulder" if you're not into ice hockey), Andrew Symonds delivered to a streaker whilst batting in the Australian innings. Besides the $6,000 fine, the streaking tool, would also be a little sore, as it looks like the equivalent of running into a brick wall.

If you missed it, check it out on YouTube quick smart, just in case it gets taken down.

Ritchie didn't need 'Snicko' or 'Hotspot' to tell the Symonds made heavy contact outside off stump. If nothing else, it might make people think twice before sledging Symonds.

Edit: Here's an action shot doing the rounds.

Maria Sharapova sporting camel toe

Monday, March 3rd, 2008

Based on recent scientific statistical research conducted by the diligent staff at the Swollen Pickles Institute for Camel Toe Research camel toe is more sought after than almost any other natural resource on the planet. Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan remain to of the most popular exponents of the camel toe, however a new contender seems to have entered the upper echelon of the camel toe world. Maria Sharapova.

The princess of womens tennis, Maria Sharapova has spawned a whole new generation of camel toe enthusiasts. I'm informed by my trusty advisors that tennis has always been a huge source of camel toe, and the shot of Maria Sharapova below mid stroke, shows that she's no stranger to showing off some on-court toe.

Ryan Reynolds is Deadpool (Wolverine movie news)

Tuesday, February 26th, 2008

Big news on the casting of the Wolverine movie, currently slated for a 1 May 2009 release with the title "X-Men Origins: Wolverine". It's one of those films that I'm keenly waiting for, but at the same time a little nervous about, cos lets face it, if this one goes wrong, it'll go really really wrong!

There were a few high profile actors announced having taken roles in the film, but the biggest part of the casting announcement came when the actors roles were announced.

Obviously the big news for me was the casting of Ryan Reynolds to play Deadpool. Sounds like perfect casting to me. Reynolds has been rumoured to play Deadpool for a few years now, with rumours of a Deadpool film dating back to 2004.

The other big one is the appearance of Gambit, one of my other favorite Marvel characters. To be honest I've never heard of the guy playing him, Taylor Kitsch, I just hope he doesn't play it corn ball.

Here's a shortlist of characters (and actors) from the "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" film:

  • Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds)
  • Agent X Zero (Daniel Henney)
  • Sabretooth (Liev Schreiber)
  • Gambit (Taylor Kitsch)
  • Silver Fox (Lynn Collins)
  • Beak (Dominic Monaghan)
  • Kestrel (Will.I.Am)
  • William Stryker (Danny Huston)

Looking at that list of characters I'm really scratching my head trying to figure out how they are going to fit them all in to the one story. The film could feature a lot of flashbacks, be set in the past, or just jump about through time. Arguably the strangest character to show up in the list is Beak. If you've read the New X-Men comics then you'll know that he's a bird like guy who doesn't have the ability to fly. Not sure why, or how, he's going to fit in to the whole thing...

Jessica Simpson brandishing massive camel toe

Saturday, February 23rd, 2008

Sometimes it's hard to keep up with the increased public demand for the latest scoop on celebrity camel toe sightings. Fortunately there is a crack team of experts (pun perhaps intended) out on the case. These perverts, I mean experts, won't let even the most minor hint of the ye olde camel toe slip by.

Jessica Simpson is one of the more regular exponents of the camel toe.Obviously a lot of that goes down to wardrobe choice. Some people often miss the Jessica Simpson camel toe as their attention is drawn to some of her higher profile assets. Take this picture below, fresh from the Swollen Pickles Camel Toe Scientific Research Institute (S.P.C.T.R.I).

Close inspection reveals Miss Simpson brandishing a rather hefty camel toe, although that fact seems to have been missed by the young bloke sharing the frame with her. It's seems he has failed to spot the camel toe in question. He's also failed to maintain eye contact.

Cricket turns into finger pointing, name calling and the blame game

Wednesday, January 9th, 2008

The recent Sydney Test Match between Australia and India has proven that cricket is not necessarily a "gentlemen's" sport. The 5 day match managed to stir up a lot of controversy in a very short period. It started with some dodgy umpiring decisions and ended with allegations of racism, with Harbhajan Singh allegedly calling Australia's Andrew Symonds a "monkey", for which Singh has copped a three match ban (which India is now appealing). India then threatened to pick up their bat and ball and go home, but have since decided to continue their tour. All very complicated and confusing for what is only a game!

One of the more curious umpiring decisions given in the game was Andrew Symonds being given not out after he appeared to get a thick edge. Symonds was heavily criticised by India for not 'walking', when even by Symonds own admission, he was out. "Walking" or the act of the batsmen walking from the ground even before the umpire has given the decision (usually happens when it's obviously out), has always been a contentious issue. Personally I can see both sides of the argument.

On the one hand, why should a batsmen walk if he/she is given not out by the umpire. As a batsmen there are days when the decisions will go against you. You'll be given out even though you know you should not have been. Getting a decision to go your way just balances everything out doesn't it? The umpires are there to do a job, why should the batsman do it for them.

On the other hand, if you know you are out, isn't "walking" the only the right, and sportsman like thing to do?

Personally, I'd say I'd be a "walker", I'm not sure I could stand there knowing that I should have been given out, but then that might all change if I were a professional cricketer who had been on the receiving end of some poor decisions.

In cricket, there is no more obvious mode of dismissal than being clean bowling. When the ball hits the stumps and the bails come off, you really don't need to wait for the umpire to raise his/her finger. Which is why I'm not sure that the Indian cricket team should feel all that comfortable for criticising their opposition for not walking.

Here's a nice clip highlighted by the Brisbane Times and posted on YouTube, featuring tough talking Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh demonstrating how not to walk. His decision not to leave the ground and wait for the umpires decision seems to confuse everyone, including the commentary team, and his English opposition. The Brisbane Times describes the action:

The move befuddles commentator Ian Botham and moves Pietersen to ask Singh: "Do you not walk when you're bowled?". Harbhajan fires back with, ahem, a phrase starting with a word that rhymes with "truck" and ends with "you".

Watch the clip for yourself, it's a bit of a laugh, but supports the old saying that "those in glass houses shouldn't throw stones". Warning: Contains some coarse language.

When actor and director don’t get along

Saturday, January 5th, 2008

Ever wanted to see a high class A-list Hollywood argument? Wondered what happens when the claws come out? Well, read on... I stumbled across this nuggetty gem on Wikipedia whilst trying to find out who directed the film, I Heart Huckabees. The answer was David Russell, but that's beside the point. Whilst reading up on the film I noticed some references to "tension on the set". How could I not investigate further?

It would seem that there was indeed some tension on the set between the Director and Lily Tomlin. Fortunately for us, some of this tension was captured on film. Naturally, as most things do these days, the footage ended up on the internet, and then YouTube.

This first clip involves Lily Tomlin flipping out over some "directorial issues" and getting a teensy bit worked up. So much so that she tells Dustin Hoffman and Naomi Watts to... ah... just watch the clip.

Warning: Contains adult themes and some coarse language.

The second clip involves Lily Tomlin kicking up a stink due to further "directorial issues" prior to the Director coming in to throw his own tantrum.

Don't let that put you off though, I Heart Huckabees is a great film, and well worth a look. It can be either deep and meaningful, or just light weight entertainment, how you view it is up to you. Next time I watch it though, I'll be making sure I keep an eye out to see if any of the on set tension made its way into the final product.

In closing, nothing could sum up this whole sage as well as the following clip...
